100 word challenge

#Summer

The first day of summer, at school, has begun the season in a very hot way. Everyone is back in their shorts, t-shirts and dresses. I am looking very forward to some of the upcoming events at school. Christmas carols is very exciting, we are performing, watching and most importantly have fun. Then  the grade 6’s are graduating, that is the most exciting thing on my mind right now. Then there are the school/ Christmas holidays. I’m so excited for Christmas because I am seeing my whole family and spending time with them and having big dinners and lunches.

Softball

Today, the 17/10/2014 the girls’ softball team played a fascinating and enjoyable game of softball. The scores were 21/3 in our favour. We all gave it our best and worked together to achieve this amazing score with very little practise. I would like to thank Mr F for umpiring and coaching us and the boys’ softball team for cheering us on.

Right next to the pretty pond

The leaves are bright green

Hopping on the ground

Their cute noses are moving

On the bar I do a flip

My cartwheel is straight

Winter is coming

All the trees have lost their leaves

The snow is falling

Footy Day/Hot dog Day

Yesterday was Footy day. We dressed up in our favourite AFL footy team. In the first hour we had the Parade where one of the teachers calls out the teams one by one. The theme song would play at the same time. I barrack for Richmond (Tigers). Then after recess we had the activities where we rotated around to different things. Then for lunch some people had hotdogs and a juice box. Footy day was really fun.

The Snow

Last week I spent a week at Falls creek. I went with my cousins, uncle, aunty and my family. I had a fun time tobogganing, tubing, going on ski lifts, skiing and playing in the snow. I watched snow fall and watched my sister ski down a big hill, with massive bumps then face plant in the snow. Then my ski teacher yelling out “stop, stop, stop, stop.” The only bad thing was that I missed out on a few things on at school. I had a fun week I hope to do it again sometime.

Earn and Learn

The 4/5/6’s have had the privilege of being able to participate in Earn and Learn. Earn and Learn is a fun subject where we learn how to be successful sellers and buyers. We sell fake things in our classroom (town/city). We invent our own store then make and create things to sell and for others buy. We made fake money and voted on a prime minister. My store is a newsagency; I work with Joag, Chlg, Conc and Kalp. I really enjoy Earn and Learn and hope we can continue doing it for as long as we can.

100 word challenge

The rain was drenching everyone’s school clothes. The mud was being brought in on all the wet school shoes tramping inside. Squeaky noises were coming from all the wet shoes which were making the stairs echo. I walked in my classroom and I saw all my friends already there talking in the access all areas. Everyone looked tired from the SLC that some people had last night. I went to Chloe and said, “What a cold day, summer and spring are way better seasons. I hope that the weather can clear up by the time play and lunch comes around.”

Victoria University

Today the 30th of May 2014 the people from Victoria University came for the last week to teach us to more things about light. The first thing we worked on was a pin-hole camera. I made three and they all didn’t work so I didn’t have a finished and made pin-hole camera.  The second tasked that we worked on was called a Spectroscope. That was another thing related to light. I saw a rainbow of the colours, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Thank you to the Victoria University for coming out each week to teach us a bit of science.

Sport report

Two Fridays ago the mixed football team played a challenging and energetic game of football against Morland. The scores were 72-48 in our favour. Some of the highlights were Joag’s accurate goals, aleb’s good ruck work, adrs’s good roving and everybody’s continues teamwork. I would like to thank Mr F for coaching us and making us better at football each week.

science- Miss B

Last Tuesday the student from 5/6M had an interesting science class with Miss B. We worked with ice and water. With the ice we had to see how long or how short it would take to melt. We had to use different strategies to melt the ice. I predicted it would take 25-30 minutes. My group used friction to melt it. So we put the ice in our hands then rubbed it for about two minutes. While we were waiting for the ice to melt we did another quick activity. We got two jars then added the same amount of water to them so they were exactly the same the only difference was that one had a lid and one didn’t. Then we put them in a dark cupboard and let them sit for the whole week. Thank you Miss B for running a fun science lesson for 5/6M.
